Nicholson Manufacturing Chipper Product Line Purchased by Carmanah Design and Manufacturing. Seattle, Washington 19 September 2005 As part of continuing efforts to realign Nicholson’s long-term business focus on its Ring Debarker technology, Nicholson announced today that is has approved the sale of Nicholson’s Chipper Product Line to Carmanah Design and Manufacturing of Vancouver B.C., Canada. Scott Nicholson, Vice-President of Sales and Service for Nicholson Manufacturing, commented that “the decision to divest ourselves of a product line that we have marketed for over 40 years was a tough one, but an important step in our strategy of focusing on our core product line, ring Debarkers. We at Nicholson remain dedicated to being the world’s leading supplier of ring debarking technology. We believe our customers and the industry will be well served by Carmanah and their ongoing commitment to the chipper product line.” Effective October 1, 2005, CARMANAH will be responsible for the future supply of all spare parts, capital equipment and service for the Chipper product line formerly owned by Nicholson Manufacturing Ltd. Jim Best, Carmanah’s President and Chief Executive Officer expressed the company’s sentiment and excitement, stating that “Nicholson’s excellent reputation supplying a high quality product and world-class service were key in our decision to proceed. The integration of the Nicholson and Carmanah chipper product lines and our ongoing commitment to the chipper business will allow us to offer customers a high level of service and a wider choice of equipment options.
