New Nicholson
A8 and A5B Highspeed Debarkers come standard with Fiberguard feedrolls.
Most older Nicholson roll feed debarkers from 12 to 44 inches, and many debarkers from other manufacturers can be
retro-fitted with Fiberguard feedrolls.
You can now quickly reconfigure your feedrolls to provide significantly more
useable fiber for your products.
Our simple bolt-on FiberGuard Inserts can be quickly changed to provide more
or less aggressive feedroll gripping forces.
Spikeless Nicholson FiberGuard Feedrolls (Patented) provide more contact area
than spiked rolls to avoid penetration of the log’s surface and protect the
high-value wood on the outside of
the log.
You can change inserts quickly to adjust to seasonal and log supply changes.
FiberGuard is the way to adjust to frozen log applications.
Well maintained feedrolls need far lower clamping pressures. This saves
surface fiber, air, electrical power and your debarker!
You will also reduce the time and cost of rebuilding your feedrolls. A
FiberGuard Feedroll can be rebuilt in 2 hours or less, as compared to
the typical 17 hours required to rebuild a standard feedroll using the
remove, cut, weld and re-install method.
You only need a wrench!. No welding, grinding, cutting or alignment
jigs! And using FiberGuard inserts will make sure that the top of every
feedroll flute is at the same height. This avoids the major problem of
having to increase roll pressure due to areas of no contact on flutes that
are not at the correct height.
You can even rebuild the rolls one at a time on the debarker during
regular maintenance. No need to remove the feedrolls from the debarker
(a time and safety advantage).
Fiber savings and important maintenance advantages make these rolls an
economic necessity for your mill!
